First, I want to say thank you to everyone who has stopped by my blog and commented. I really appreciate your input…loving the community and participating with AEDM. A special thank you to Leah Piken Kolidas for starting it all in the first place.
Today, I used black ink to add in some details to my experimental acrylic piece…can you even tell? I wasn’t sure what else to do to it, even though I feel like it’s not finished. I started thinking about what I might title it and suddenly just popped in my mind the concept of Lost and Found…or more like Lost or Found? I scanned in my piece and added some typography elements…what do you think?

I’m partial to the Lost version, perhaps because the white pops so nicely. But I like the idea of having that double message, the idea of Lost or Found rather than Lost and Found. Ehh, maybe I’m over analyzing as well.
I also started some new canvases, completely differently direction. We’ll see what happens!

Thick layer of gesso under for texture, then layers of acrylic...

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! I appreciate your input!
I love the moon painting especially!
Sweet – going to keep working on that!
oo, fun! i’m partial to the lost version as well. but they make a cool pairing!
Thanks…I’ll have to mull over this…
I like the way lost pops also, but the whole idea of lost OR found is awesome. Your new canvas looks great.
Thanks for your input…must figure out something!
Oooh, I love the lost one : 0 I like the white letters.
Love your second canvas. Sometimes I just make several backgrounds, playing with the colors. Then eventually an idea will come to me to finish the piece.
Another vote for Lost! Oh, I do the same thing…I really have no plans and just sort of paint colors to see what happens.
I really like the found,I’m allways drawn to the dark colors. These two pieces make me think?,What have I lost and what have I found.Great work.
Oh very true…originally I had thought to keep it more dark and only the sails of the ship popping in white. Hmm…
Hi, there
first, thanks so much for stopping by my blog and your comment!
I love the juxtaposition of the lost and/or found version! As I have grown up at the Baltic Sea and moved away, the boat image and the double message have sailed straight to my heart. And the movement of the brush stroke sails are so evocative of a literal as well as figurative/emotional journey. Wonderful!
Wow, you’ve definitely understood it…this rocky journey that we are on…whether we are lost or found depends on our perspective. I have to keep working on this piece to find some resolution to how I want it to end up!
What an interesting painting- it’s great! I love seeing all the experimenting that you are doing- you never know what you are going to see next!
Thanks for entering my Giveaway and for leaving such a lovely comment

Thanks so much! It’s fun to just do something entirely different, even if unsure. Grow and learn I say!
I like the Lost and Found pieces: I particularly like those dark “waves” marks..
can’t wait to see the canvases
Thank you! It’s funny how “mistakes” turn out nice…those dark marks are big water blots. I have learned too much water just ruins the whole thing, but somehow if you can control it!
Hi Linda,
Thank you for visiting and commenting on my angel sketches.
I can certainly appreciate your dilemma concerning the Lost of Found canvases(?). Are there two? They both make a statement and together they send a strong message.
Maybe you could set them aside, out of sight, for a couple of days and then decide. I do agree that the white “Lost” lettering is eye-catching.
Your new background looks great! I can’t wait to see what develops.
Thanks so much, Janet! Lovely to communicate for everyone in AEDM…definitely fun experimenting and testing ideas out. I’ll definitely have to mull over things a bit.
It’s so neat to see the stages of your sailing ship painting. Love how it comes together! I’m having so much fun with AED month.
Ditto! AEDM is a great challenge and enjoying visiting everyone’s blogs and seeing their work. Hope to share more soon…off to doodle.
Your experiences are just great! Loved the boat!
Thank you!
Very cool. I like the white. Great moon. Glad I came to visit.
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it!
