Art Every Day Month 12

Wow.  I just have to say again, thank you to everyone who stopped by and left me words of encouragement and feedback on yesterday’s post.  Grazie mille…because I really couldn’t have done all of this and gotten to this point without the support of all of you.  I’m so happy that the internet allows us to be a community, even though we are spread out all over the world.  Talk about amazing times!  Also, thank you to Leah from Creative Every Day for starting Art Every Day Month…because this initiative has really been great motivation for me.  We aren’t yet half-way through and I feel as if it’s a big turning point in my journey already.  So darn cool! Gahh!!!

Also, I really love what Leah posted for today’s AEDM check-in:

You are amazingly creative. Yes, you, reading this. You are an artist. Believe it. Know it. Drink it in. And keep on creating.

I am taking it all in and continuing to work on my little royal series of portraits.  They are all women with fantastic hairstyles and royal titles…a bit of props for all the females out there, the multiple titles and ranks we all hold, the multiple hats (or hairpieces and styles) we wear but that deep inside, we are all just little girls at heart.  Thoughts still stirring in my mind as I work on these pieces, of course.  For today, I present you with The Empress!

Thanks Leah! I keep thinking about women and roles as I work on these ladies…definitely a subject that has always intrigued me.

Love the Empress. I have no talents in drawing or painting though I have tried. I’m always in awe of those that do.
    I’ll be back and visit.

Sometimes I don’t know what talent is…because it takes trial and error to get what you want at times. Drawing and painting are learned as well…so maybe it just takes some time to get the hang of it? Thanks for your feedback – I really appreciate it!

Love her! She is gorgeous and I’m really loving this series!

  5. Your illustrations are very sweet. I can see some little girls loving them — maybe as decorations on bedroom pillows.

    I LOVE your faces!
    tender and so lovely!

    • linda says:

Thanks Carmen…it’s interesting because the faces are actually very similar if you look closely…but somehow they turn out with their own personalities.

WOW! Your royal series is gorgeous! I love Love LOVE them all…Can’t wait to see what you are up to next!

    • linda says:

Hi Heather – Thanks so much for your feedback – it means a lot! Will be sharing more as I work on these ladies… :P

  11. Cheryl says:

Linda, I love your courage. I’m having to learn to have courage to share, too, and courage to create at all. Because you never know what you’re going to make — or what you are going to be able to make — unless you start. It’s a great leap into the unknown, and this is just the beginning (for me, anyway). I hope this community continues when AEDM is over. I guess it will through Creative Every Day (another thanks to Leah!).

    • linda says:

Great words of wisdom! I think this community is great and you are right that it’s Creative Every Day normally… :P

  13. Sandy says:

Cool, Linda. I just wrote on my blog today about the many hats I wear and balancing time in our lives. I guess it’s in the air! I love the power that comes through in the art you created. The eyes are very striking to me. Keep on creating and sharing!

    • linda says:

Hi Sandy! What a coincidence…I’ve heard it said before that there is a collective consciousness and especially in blogging, it’s instantaneously to find that we are thinking around the same issues. Fantastic!
