Art Every Day Month 16

Today has been a busy day!  I went to town sewing up my little monkey plushie.  He’s coming together, but I still have a lot of work to do.  Hand sewing is definitely a trying process.  If I could just stop poking myself, it would probably go faster as well.  Anyhow, I feel it is a good use of an old sweater to make this little monkey (who jumped off the bed and hit his head)!

I also worked heavily on my royal ladies to finish them up – or at least a first draft of all of them.  I might still change some details, but glad to have gotten this far in the series…I present you with the Countess, the Princess and the Lady!

Thanks Leah! It’s definitely fun to work on a series, but I also get distracted so easily and start up on other things!

  3. Your work is so adorable! I love the expressive faces!!

Thanks Julie! It’s so amazing how a slight different in line or angle can change an expression so much!

  4. Your monkey monster is adorable! And I’m loving the ladies. Very nice work on this busy day!

Thank you! I’m thinking perhaps more plushies because I just like the squishy huggable aspect of it all.

What an adorable monkey. My daughters and I are very inspired by this. We have been trying to think of what to make their very young cousin for Christmas. Now we know. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback, Rennata. You totally could just take fabric scraps and old clothing to make plushies! My friend uses fabric scraps to stuff them as well, so really you can find everything at home…give it a try and let me know! :P
