Art Every Day Month 19

Today has been a very random day for me.  I can’t seem to concentrate on one thing for a decent amount of time.  As I jump from project to project, idea to idea…with excitement as well, but that which does not last to push me to finish. Hmph.  So here are some of my many work in progress projects…

Packaged up some mail, but didn’t make it to the post office.  Started knitting…like 8 rows only…

Started painting and paper collaging some cardboard, then moved to a tiny canvas, all unfinished…

Went back to old illustrations and created some random coloring pages…

I’m sort of wondering what I should do now…

Hi Shannon, thanks for the encouragement! I just feel all over the place.

Ohh Linda, I love the expressions of your drawings. Your cat is so cute. Is that representative of how you’re feeling? I understand being all over the place. That’s part of the process I think. For me what helps is realizing this is only one day, or a small amount of time in my entire process. Do you know of the short film “The Powers of Ten” by Charles and Ray Eames? Maybe kind of like that.

Hi Leah – Thank you for your wise words. I guess it is true that my sort of nervous shaky nature does come out in the expressions of what I draw…I guess it’s the extreme of super crazy happy faces then the nervous anxious ones! I haven’t seen that film…will have to check it out!

Yes, I can soooo relate, too! I have an unfinished scarf that was my first attempt at knitting from last Spring.

Thanks Julie! I suppose that is looking on the bright side…rather than me fretting about not finishing anything!

Ditto. What a blessing to have so many talents, I say. I’m learning to go where the Muse takes me even if it is everywhere.

Wow you are really making so much progress- you just seem to be exploring and trying new things and it is so inspiring! I think you made comments on yahoo but I have to take time to figure it out so I can participate more.

Hi Lori – thanks so much. Yeah, I’m very much an experimenter, dabbler…all over the place by nature. I get super excited and dive into things and then it might just sit there unfinished for a long time…eek! It’s like ADD I guess.

and do I see knitting needles in there, too?? Sounds like something is brewing – exciting!

Oh, those crazy all-over-the-map days. I know them well. The good thing is that after a day like this, you have oodles of projects that just need finishing touches!
