Joining in with creative workspaces this week, normally I would have doodles and sketches, brainstorming for various designs. But this week however, I have something new to share with you all. Oh so lovely, leather! I have to admit this material has grown on me through the years. As a kid I used to complain about the smell, but now I can appreciate the quality and love the smell and feel of various types. Here’s my current stash:
I’m totally in love with the bright orange color and in my wildest dreams imagine myself making a Valentino 360 style of purse. Perhaps a bit far fetched as I don’t have enough material, but perhaps a mini-purse? We’ll see what happens. You might be wondering where I get my leather and I have to say it’s one of the perks of living here in Tuscany. I happen to be around the area where leather is prepared and there are many different processing stages of leather. In the end I am able to get various pieces direct from the companies and I know it’s quality stuff.
The challenge of course, is to make some really nice useable items. I know the quality of the leather, so I’m a bit afraid of cutting into it for fear of ruining a great piece of material. Well, no more…this orange piece is calling to me and I’ve bought the matching waxed thread as well…so here goes…

Ola, nice blog you’ve got here. I must say that I liked reading this piece. I stumbled across it this morning and thought it was interesting, so it inspired me to add a note. I have a feeling there will be others who pretty much share your opinion concerning this matter. So, I’ll return soon when I make some free time to read more. This is funny, but I was just asking my brother concerning it, so this post was just what I needed. I will bookmark this site and subscribe to the RSS link in addition. Thanks again.
Thanks! Glad you stopped by!
