Good to know there are other's out there that feel the same way. I think all of us working together, we can help each other go along our paths...community! Humans are social animals after all...we need others around! Thanks for being here and helping to push me along.

Hi Vanessa! Thanks so much for your encouragement and wise words...you are right that there are so many of us out there...trying to figure it all out. I know it will take time...but sometimes I think it's like the series Lost where there's always more questions than answers HEHE :P

Thank you for a great post, Linda. Yes, I do agree that financial security is one of the main concerns when pursuing one's passion. You wrote not just your own story but many of ours as well. Sometimes, we forget and feel as though we are on this journey alone and it's discouraging. But when I read something like what you wrote, it reminds me that many like-minded creative souls are fighting for their dreams too and I should continue to strive on mine.

All I can say is, " Buckle your seat belt Linda and just let it ride" I love this posting. You are where so many of us are right now. It's a journey. You can't always figure it out in one sitting. It takes time and discovery all of which are good and bad. You must continue on your beautiful path. It is your fingerprint. Keep writing about this journey because it's going to help many other artist as well. Keep your head up!

Hi Miranda! Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. It's true my story is probably one of the more common ones...similar realizations and such. Trial and error I suppose...we have to go out and experiment to see what works for us personally!

Hi Linda! Great post, it's always interesting to hear people's journeys! Your is similar to mine in that I also started out with a little bit of graphic design. I'm not a trained designer, but after school I got a job at a print shop, thinking design was something I could learn. After seeing what it entails and doing a little myself, I realized that it had nothing of the hands-on creativity that I loved about art. I ended up getting an job unrelated to art with fewer hours to let me pursue my own work. Anyways, thanks for the link to my blog, much appreciated!
