Painting Over Creative Workspace

Happy Thursday to everyone!  Today I started painting over my little collage muse paintings from a while back.  I sort of messed them up when I tried to glaze over unprotected paper.  Things started getting smeared and yucky guey.  Sigh… although I’m glad that I can paint over something I don’t like.  Build on layers, paint over it…like start over but with some experience already packed in.  It’s all good, right? I saved the little hand embroidery heart portions…we’ll see what happens from here.

You can also see some of my Spoonflower printed fabric swatches above as I’m still trying to figure out colors and just ordered a color palette swatch to help out.  I realized after ordering that I probably need to order color swatches on all fabric types.  Don’t think I can invest in that right now, but we’ll see. Until next time…

  1. I imagine it’s a little disappointing to have to paint over something, but then a little exciting too, since suddenly there are new possibilities before you.

Aw, I understand only too well the frustration when things go wrong (especially when you’ve put heart and effort into them) but sometimes it’s just part of the learning process and we become better for it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to cut teeny little beads out of patterns and start hours worth of work again – but it’s worth it to feel happy with the end result. Good luck x

Thanks for the encouragement, Clair! I agree it’s part of the learning processing…we’ll see what happens by taking this new path :P Thanks again!

Your swatches look great! Dawanda looks very much like etsy only they have more German and French people. So if you want to reach european customers Dawanda is great.
    Have a lovely weekend!

    Bye

Hi Marieke, Thanks for the tip on Dwanda! I’ll have to give it a try as well…I’ll give everything a go :P Hopefully I can make something with my fabric…I don’t have a sewing machine, so it’s challenging!
