Creative Workspace Printing and Watercoloring

Things are still a bit messy in my workspace, but I’ve been testing printing on canvas paper which is pretty darn cool!  I used to not like the canvas texture when painting and wanted to cover it up with globs of paint, but now the texture is sort of nice to me.  BTW I just created a little clothesline by tacking up some twine – it’s nice for wall decoration!

I also broke out some watercolors (I used markers in some spots, too) and trying to practice more. I haven’t really found what it is I really like about watercolor that I can do – besides the fact that I am totally inconsistent.  I think it’s important to experiment enough so you can take from it what fits with your work…something like that  anyway – not wanting to get all spiritual talking here. I want today to be a lazy free day.

In fact, I’m checking out ALL the other creative workspaces on kootoyoo this week… there are always so many links and usually I don’t get to see them all.

I love watercolor. It may be my favorite type of painting. Alas, I wish I were better at it. Something to practice, if only I could squeeze in some more time in the day!

I am only able to visit all the creative spaces once every month or so, but I wish I could do it every week. I hate missing out on a single one–but 150 of them? Whew!

I agree watercolor is a challenging medium! I’m still learning so much and not really sure where it’s all going. And you are right it’s hard to visit ALL the creative spaces…there are so many!

Hi Linda, my work space is always messy lol I can’t seem to ever stay tidy. I love your little line, I’ve seen other artists do that to hang inspirational images etc it’s a wonderful idea! Keep creating. Love Niki xxx

Hi Nicki! Yup, I think the hanging clothesline idea is cool for adding bits of inspiration to your wall pretty easily!

Oh! Your blog is wonderful. So glad to discover it and great idea with the clothespins. My son has started taping his art to the wall…but this is much better :)

Love that print. I see people who have talents like that and I am so jealous. Beautiful

Thank you so much for your kind comment and I think we all have talent, sometimes it just takes a while to bring it out…ahah!

It took me almost a whole day to check ALL of the talents from MCS one week. Not easy but doable though! I posted mine albeit late that day and the traffic is not as many as I thought would be. Don’t you ever wonder where do people find time to wake up so early and started to being create early morning?

Am like you. Can be inconsistent and still finding my feet…but getting there.. :)

Hi there! Well, I know Australians just per time zone are usually the first to post…and I’m located in Europe so in the middle…but I totally understand those in the states are a bit later. I actually want to go back and check ‘em out now! I hope we can keep forging ahead – we can do it!
