Some inspiration and sneak peeks…

Happy Monday to everyone! Here in Italy we actually have a holiday on June 2nd, Festival of the Republic. My husband and I will be on a little getaway, thus I will be taking a break from blogging this whole week. In the meantime, let me leave with a bit of inspiration and sneak … See the full post »

Create because you want to…that's all the reason you need.

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about the process of creating and the reasons why I do what I do. Whether I’m taking photo, altering them, doodling, painting, creating digital graphics or randomly making whatever I feel like at the moment…it’s just something I must do. Often I’m inspired to make something because … See the full post »

Printable Clock Graphics

Happy hump day to all! I have a busy week working on pattern designs and of course doing my art journaling as always. I really wanted a clock image today, so decided to just whip up a few versions and see how I could incorporate them into my pages. I thought it would be … See the full post »

Art Journal With Me – Just Drawing

Hi everyone! Another week of art journaling with me, thanks for stopping by as always. I thought I would continue with drawing my funky ladies in the black journal of watercolor paper. When I go to draw, there’s no plan or picture in my mind. I just start with round eyes and go from … See the full post »

I’ve done a bunch of sketches using the heart pattern and plan to create a collection of patterns. In the meantime, I got a boost of Flickr photo … See the full post »

Learning From Turtles and A Frog Girl?

When we start to eat lots of strawberries, our turtles subsequently get fed all the strawberry tops. We know they love ‘em and I’m always mesmerized watching them chomp away. They get all red around the mouth like lipstick…so funny!

Doesn’t he look like he’s hoarding the strawberries? Mine, mine, all mine – muhahaha! In … See the full post »

Creative Workspace – Laughing At Myself…

Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself, rather than assuming the worse like perhaps – I’ve gone mad! For example, today I decided to make a practice journal out of leftover watercolor paper. I have a lot of leather lying around, so cut a little cover and sewed it together. Until I realized … See the full post »

Journaling Tags and Shapes to Cut Out

Today I needed a quick shape template as a guide for cutting out some tag embellishments, so I opened up Illustrator to mock up a shape for printing. What began as a quick and easy shape suddenly turned into a discovery of all the preset brushes and decorative patterns in Illustrator. I was able … See the full post »

Art Journal With Me – Old School Drawing

Somedays I don’t really feel like doing anything. But if I just put a pencil in my hand and get a sheet of white paper, something will come out. It might be a bunch of scribbling, the writing of a list or even a morbid image…but today it turned out to be a little … See the full post »
