As I mentioned in a previous post, August is vacation time here in Italy. They call it ferie and the conversation all month long is about where you went, what you did…and eventually, oh no, it’s time to get back to work! Although I had plans to continue posting through this period, in the end I was swept up by the rush of hosting family visiting from the USA. I can’t say vacation was all that restful, but it was definitely great times and now I have thousands of photos to go through! Back to the grind and playing catch this week for sure.

So this past month, I didn’t have a lot of time to journal, but the creativity definitely came out in finishing up issues of my Pensieri zine. Also, if you haven’t already, check out the bookbinding tutorials I did post this August – easy peasy accordion book, longstitch binding and chain or coptic stitch binding. I’m going to take this week to get back to the old routine, but I also started thinking about all my blogs and how I could organize better and schedule my postings more consistently. If you have any comments on posting schedule and topics, please let me know! Besides this art blog that is the most active, I also blog about papercrafting on BacktoPaper, pattern designs on justgraphic and embroidery on andfeeling. Since I can’t bring myself to cut down on my interests, I’ll just have to optimize my time and get more organized…I’m always wanting to do more, not less!!!

Oooooh… Linda, this picture literally took my breath away!
I was not expecting it! what a beautiful and amazing place! You lucky girl : )
thanks for sharing.
Hi Carmen! Thanks so much, that’s a view of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo…a very nice hike up the hill on a clear day. I do love it here…so I guess vacation is just visiting my own home surrounding area…hehe…
I look forward to your blog posts and future inspiration!!
Maybe you can do different days devoted to different topics – Saturday scrapbooking, Tuesday bookbinding, etc? Just trying to give you something. You seem incredibly organized to me as it is!
Thanks so much, Chel! It’s lovely to hear from you and I’ll definitely be back soon…just a bit of catch up to do for now. I have thought of the days for specific subject, but wondering if it would ever be too restrictive … ahah…so much to think about. Oh my, I’m not organized really! You should take a look at my desk!
Good to see you back
I would love to see a tutorial from you on making zines, but that would just give you more to do not less, so maybe leave this one for later, in the mean time I’ll settle for more photos of your lovely zine, it really looks so good I would love to see more.
Hi Veronika! Thanks so much and funny you should ask because I was just listening to the CraftSanity podcast, Jennifer is planning to do a zine on zines! Check that out… but really a zine is just a little booklet on whatever topic gets you going. It could be a drawings with clever sayings *wink*wink* I think the easiest quickest one to start with is this one-pager type http://www.fimp.net/makeabook.html
I’m making my first zine at the moment and it has a theme (Alphabet for grownups!
but because it’s my first one ever I guess I’m just unsure if it’s all being done in the right way or not, I guess I’ll just have to post it and ask for some feedback and see what happens
I’m positive a zine can be what you want it to be…independent publishing!!!
Ah, yes, the class Craft ADD. I have it too.
(However, I can’t manage more than one blog, so I mash all my interests into one.)
Glad you had a nice vacation, and welcome back!
I guess some of my interests are so different, or somehow it makes sense to separate into different blogs…or maybe not! Eek! I think I signed up for too many online courses too… can’t keep up! Thanks for the welcome back – hope to get back to normal soon!
I’d actually LOVE to see photos of your desk and working space.
I’m so interested in that part of things!
I will definitely do creative space photos…usually I try not to show the mess, but maybe I should include a “setting the scene” photos. Once I get back into the groove, I post creative space and works in progress on thursdays! Thanks for your interest!
