Creative Workspace – Back to Routines

I’m all about organizing and getting back to my routines these days. Summer vacation was super fun and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing my family from the States and showing them my Italian way of life, here in Tuscany. I miss all the relaxing and eating of gelato, but at the same time I’m anxious to finally get back to my routines. Vacations can be so exhausting, right? I’m still doing a lot of thinking about my blogging schedules and how to fit all that I want to do into a 24 hour (so limited!) day. I can certainly veg out and do nothing with my hubby…but usually I want to be busy, accomplishing something with my hands. It just feels good. So here’s a little creative workspace peek…stuff in progress or probably more correct to say stuff left undone from before August.

My family also brought my new tools that I ordered and asked them to lug on over to Italy…it’s cheaper this way. I finally got a Wacom tablet, but have no idea how to use it. I also got a Big Shot to cut shapes into paper, but I really want to try with leather. Hope I don’t break the darn thing!

Thanks for stopping by to see my creative space…I think I’ll keep this routine for every Thursday. Check out all the other creative workspaces on kootoyoo as well…so much inspiration!

    Hi Linda!
What fun, to have all those new toys. I’m sure you won’t break them, lol.
I have a much more basic wacom table and i love it, it’s easy and intuitive to use : )

Thanks Carmen! I have successfully cut some thin leather with my Big Shot, but doesn’t seem to do it for thicker products…I think I would need different dies as wel… but it’s fun. Now if only the wacom was as simple as handcranking a machine.

Yay! I loved the peek into your workspace (LOVE studio tours!!) and congrats on the new toys! I have three die cut machines (an old Quickutz, a Cuttlebug, and a Slice) and I love them, although i don’t use them nearly as much as I should.Looking forward to see what you design with them- I’m sure it will inspire me to pull mine out and get them back into regular use!

Hi Chel! Thanks so much and one of these days I’ll have to do a better tour…it’s not really a scraproom, just a big desk that I take over. Wow, you have everything…must be great to be able to use all the dies and cut whatever you want. I’m just getting into diecutting myself!

Love the little sketches! I have a Wacom, and it’s awesome once you get used to it. Haven’t used mine in ages, though. Hmmm….

Thanks! Yeah, I have to get used to it, I’m all shaky. Worse than just drawing by hand…only my whole laziness has always been scanning…it’s a pain.

    Linda,
Thank you for stopping by my blog leaving your lovely comment. How did you find it?
I’ll start following your blogs, since looks like we share the same passions… I love to draw, I’m trying to “become” a graphic designer, love scrapbook, papers and so..
I have a Wacom and love it, if you have a good graphic software such as Illustrator or Corel Draw you will be very happy!
I also just bought a BigShot (told you we can relate, lol) but mostly to cut fabric and felt, or packaging, since I love them!
Half of my family was Italian (2 generations ago) and my husband’s too (one generation)…, but we are both Brazilians living near NYC since 2007 with our 2 kids. Are you Italian or just living in Italy?
It was a pleasure meeting you through your blogs! Tchau!

Hi Carla! You are very welcome, I must have been browsing around looking at cardmaking designs. I think there are so many of us with similar interests, it’s fantastic to connect and share online. Oh, I think it’s so cool you use the BigShot for fabric and felt…I’ll have to try it out. Sometimes it sounds like things are cracking! My husband is Italian, so that is why I live here…I’m originally from Los Angeles actually. We are planning to live here for a while and I’m learning lots about a new culture, since I’m ethnically Chinese, too!

Hi Linda! Yes…I agree..a lot of times I need a vacation from the vacation. :)

Be careful with your big shot..I broke my die cut machine trying to cut thin sheet metal. :)
