This week, I’ve been doing a lot of sketch practicing in attempts to train my drawing hand and strengthen it up. I suppose my hands and fingers could be considered quite weak, since I waver and shake a lot for lack of control. However, I do love to sketch, whether just line drawings or trying to shade as well. Of course, sometimes I just keep sketching and never follow through to finish anything off into final pieces…oh well!

Along with sketching goes inking and that’s definitely a challenging part for me. I sort of get happy just having finished the sketch and almost don’t want to “ruin” it by inking over. However, I’ve finally bought  a few Sakura Micron pens to try out and super happy with the results. Now that I have the Microns, I’m inking some of my sketches and loving how much control I have even with the super fine .25mm pen. Wowsers! Now I have to go buy all the sizes, right?

So my creative space has been a lot of sketching and inking and strengthening. My brother had told me about grip exercises as well…maybe I do need a workout routine for my hands…

I think we all have strengths and weaknesses, but we can always work on the weaknesses and turn them into strengths. I’m always trying to get better and better, day by day. Hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my creative space. Ciao ciao!
