Every morning, I take my dog for a walk around our neighborhood. We’ve noticed little daisies popping up in the grass again, a beautiful sign of Spring after a very cold winter here in Tuscany. Noticing these little details and really enjoying such a simple pleasure, reminded me of all the things that are worth my time, versus not worth my time. I picked a few blooms to take home with me…

Although I think of myself as a reserved person, there are times when something just boils my blood. Maybe it’s a very serious affront to my family and values, or maybe it’s a heated political discussion, or even a silly squabble with the neighbors. Big or small, it cultivates a lot of negativity in my heart. Like a black spot you can’t rid of, staining my attitude and possibly spreading.

I realize that whatever happens in life, we certainly can’t just delete things from our experience. Whether I like it or not, the past has happened. However, I can choose to spend time dwelling or move on to other things. Happier things. There is a Spring after the Winter, right?

I’ve had to learn to let go of grudges and to stop letting certain “Issues” invade my mind and peace. I can’t control all that happens, but I can choose where it stops. Choose something else.

Forgive and forget… then move on to better things. Definitely something that I need to remember and reflect upon at times. Moving on…
