I’ve always had an issue with feeling completely ready, doubting myself no matter what the situation. How much time do we spend just getting ready? Often we are fooling ourselves in thinking that we are doing something, when in reality it’s just lost time. All that hesitation and delay. Lots of lost time.

I know now that we can never feel 100% ready for anything in life. Nothing is predictable, no matter how well planned. What does being ready actually mean to you? I tend to think that we are more often than not, ready enough for whatever comes our way. It might seem uncomfortable, but the challenges presented help us to change, grow and learn.

In retrospect, things always turn out just fine – the optimist in me. We often have no choice when events simply happen. But when we do have a choice, we should try to separate the pretense of getting ready with valid preparation activities. Give yourself a deadline, because you can’t be indefinitely getting ready for something…

I wonder about the times I might have not been prepared and made a fool of myself. Did I fall flat on my face? Mistakes and mishaps? Those incidents don’t really stick in my memory oddly enough. I think we often regret not doing things… So let’s all just admit that we might never be ready, but we are ready enough most of the time. So don’t hesitate. Just do it.

I’ve taken my own advice to heart… see that banner on the top of my posts? I’ve opened shop to offering digital prints of my Girls With a Message. Yay! A giant step forward for me. I’ve spent enough time getting ready. I’ve always been ready enough…
