I’m thinking about how much my lifestyle has changed after moving here to Italy. Although you don’t need to move to another continent to change your lifestyle for the better, it was a mega changeover in my particular journey that really helped me to realize what I had been missing.

I was always obsessed with just doing something – keeping busy and repeatedly asked, what’s next? What are we going to do now? where to? now what? I seriously did not know how to just relax!

I realize now that is okay to do nothing. To enjoy simply listening to the chirping birds, having a drink with my hubby and feeling the breeze on our skin. Just chill.

We don’t need to always be accomplishing something. Downtime is necessary…and keeping busy doesn’t mean you are doing anything worthwhile either.

So I am very thankful for the slow life. Slowing down means I can pay more attention to what is around of me. I notice the little things and find joy in the simplest of experiences.

Things don’t have to be fancy to be fun. Or you can go fancy, even if it’s just a homey luncheon. I’ve shared some peeks of my weekend with family…just everyday things that make me smile.
