“I like to imagine that the world is one big machine. You know, machines never have any extra parts. They have the exact number and type of parts they need. So I figure if the entire world is a big machine, I have to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too.”
–¬†Brian Selznick,¬†The Invention of Hugo Cabret

I recently saw the film, Hugo Cabret and it’s one of those slowish-moving ones that requires you to be a bit patient. My husband and I usually opt for the action and comedies – quick entertainment types – rather than Oscar winners. Cheap and easy entertainment time, right?

But I was glad to have seen the movie, very touching and really the most poignant part for me is in the quote above. I stopped in my tracks during that part and really soaked in the words. We are all here for a reason. There are no duds or extras. The world is mysterious and amazing place… but it all works out and fits together in an intricate way… it always does.

No matter how woo-woo this topic might see, I truly believe it and I think we all need a reminder… to believe, to hope, to dream, to love…
